Quickbooks : Quickbooks Payroll : Time Format (Decimals/Minutes)
Article Contents: This article explains how QuickBooks Desktop Payroll displays time entries and how to change the format between decimal and minutes.
Step by StepStep 1: Understand QuickBooks Time Format:
- QuickBooks Desktop Payroll has two time formats: decimal and minutes.
- Decimal format interprets time entries as decimal fractions (e.g., 4:30 is converted to 4.5).
- Minutes format interprets time entries as hours and minutes (e.g., 4.5 is converted to 4:30).
Step 2: Set the Format for Time Entries:
1. Go to the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences."
2. Choose the "General" view.
3. Click on the "Company Preferences" tab.
4. In the "Time Format" section, select either "Decimal (10.20)" or "Minutes (10:12)."
5. Click "OK" to save your preferences.
